| The one area I’d like to see a big improvement in today is our kick chase. We are terrible at getting on the end of a high attacking kick and competing for the ball. It’s an integral part of the game nowadays, and we are really poor in that regard. We also need to get up quicker as a team when the ball is kicked into opposition territory. Unfortunately I think our deficiencies in these areas are due to not having fast, athletic enough players to turn the screw and get up there quickly enough either individually or as a team. I also don’t see us threatening teams from long distance with ball in hand due to the same flaws. I hope we compete well today or the storm clouds will be gathering overhead again.

| Looking at the stats our completion rate was only 66% and Wigan's 90%, despite that we still made 300m more. Half the ptb in the opposition 20 too.
Cut down the errors and the foundation is there.
Miller, Mik, Gannon and Jenkins have some pretty impressive numbers. Jake Connor involved in all out points, inked in at half now surely.

| A good all round team performance, as it needed to be to get the result. No passengers apart from Lisone’s limited input, and some pretty strong performers out there. No mention of Bentley as yet, but I thought he really took the fight to Wigan in that 1st half, defensively and with his carries. I also think Miller is underrated in some aspects of his game, he reads well defensively, gets through a ton of work and is a durable fella. He’s made a big difference bringing the ball back. Lumb had another really good game and the pack more than held their own which is encouraging. We are still struggling with the ball in hand near the opponents line and that’s a worry, so Jake Connor’s kicking from half back is going to be vital until we find a cutting edge. At least we look like we have something to build on and can at least look forward to The Wire game.

| Agree with all the comments. Watched it back this morning. A great performance and a brilliant game to watch.
It's really showing what a quality coach BA is. He's prioritised the line speed, the defence, the intensity and the workrate of the pack - and it's tremendous to watch. Second week in a row we have matched the best two packs in the league. Oledski looks a different player with a better pack around him. Jenkins and Palaasia just look like very good signings. And Bentley always gets some stick, but my god his workrate is incredible. He sets the tone.
Croft had his best game. And it just looks like he will work well with Connor at 7. Especially if the pack stay competitive.
Miller adds a different dimension. Shame he's not quicker, but he's very elusive. We just have to accept the occasional 'sevens' style brain fart.
I'd like to seem more of Jack getting game time, even if it is a stint at 9. He's definitely got something. And Gannon and Lumb are already giving a glimpse of the future - both will be regulars.
If we can go and back it up with a performance at Wire next week we have much to be optimistic about.
Oh and btw - it was brilliant watching Mik give Wilkin stick in the interview after the game. Superb!

| How many minutes did Lisone play ? I see O`Connor made 50 tackles. Does anyone know how many Bentley and McDonnell made?

| Tough win against Wigan! How long is it since we could say we ground out a tough win. There was 2 or 3 minutes where I worried we might fold but managed to get through it and accept that maybe we aren't going to get everything our own way. Connor and Miller definitely are a difference, I don't see how frawly gets back into the side unless as a substitute hooker. even if we didn't get those flashy tries and had to grind away to get scores. Tbh. Not really a surprise when facing wigan. Wigan's defense is solid, but their attack wasn't at its best. Anyone else think that ref was e for both sides? He missed loads of obstructions, offside and high tackles. On the other hand it did let the game flow. Bentley was a beast out there though, my man of the match. Not sure about Mcdonald again, and Newman improving week on week but to be fair he needed to. What's everyone else's MOM?
