Filthy bacon Wagon v.2 has buggered off, v.3 is rubbish. Simply had to have a bacon and sausage bap, so I decided to go to the local bakers, (it was passable, but not great and no brown sauce, the quest continues) as I can't be bothered to lug some manky biscuits back from Croatia for my co workers I said I'd buy people a bacon bap.



Eight people currently in the office, not one taker!?! All on diets. Idiots.

A year or so ago a greasy bacon wagon set up in a car park opposite where I worked as the canteen was pants we all went there, it was great, nice chap good nosh..



Well as the weeks went by he started looking ill, being a very talkative (nosey) person I asked what was wrong, he said that he had been receiving threats from owners of other greasy wagons!! I thought he was joking. Then he stopped coming we later learnt his wagon had been vandalised

....now that is mental, risky business owning a greasy wagon!

I can well imagine, there's quite a few of them around here, when a big building site opens up the competition is intense.



I can remember there being ice cream van wars in Hull years ago. Mister Whippy vs. Mister Softee. Vicious.

There has been an icecreaman war on our board for a few months





Now for me Mr Whippy wins hands down you cannot beat the ice cream that comes out of the machine to that what is stuck on with a hand scoop. I like a 99 with a chocolate flake on and nuts..Mmmmmm

Burgess' is still the best for me, haven't had one for years. Over here we have Dixon's. My mate Gilly Billy Rock is Mr. Dixon's niece and when she got married he ran an ice cream stand with free ice cream for all the kids, they went wild!

I know!!



TBH this is now my favourite thread, chilled and relaxed able to have a chat like normal adults, very refreshing!

There's a wood louse in my hall, apparently they're like shrimps, I'll boil it, eat it and let you know.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall made woodlouse fritters. Recipe here:



"1 egg, 1/4 cup of creamed corn, 1 cup of flour, 2 table spoons of dead woodlice. Put egg in a bowl, add corn, flour, woodlice & milk. Lightly mix. Ingredients should be moist - add more flour or milk as required to make mixture the correct consistency. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into thin layer of hot oil in a frying pan. Turn when brown on the bottom."



Do you think he means turn when the woodlouses' bottoms turn brown? Like you say, similar to prawns. Good luck.
