It seems it is silly season in their management meetings.

All HU poscode letters will now be sorted in Sheffield as they are closing Malmo Road.

All Grimbsy/Cleethorpes and Lincolnshire letters will also be sorted at Sheffield.

Malmo is closing in 2015 all the mail will be processed in Sheffield, however the delivery unit will remain...



Mail from Hull has been sorted in Leeds on a w/end for several years....If I post a letter on a Saturday from Hull to another address in Hull that letter goes all the way to Leeds and back cost efficient apparently, tbh social mail is a very small percentage of what the business handles now, the biggest bulk is the competitors mail and it is just as easy for all of them to drop and Leeds as it is Hull. The competitors prepare their own mail RM just delivers it, the business lost out big style when we lost the monopoly, it has been down hill ever since. I use the term business as that is what it now is it stopped being referred to as a public service years agol

Half the Mail Centres are shut/going to shut over the next few years, 1000s of jobs will be lost.

That's sad.

I had a couple of years of happy employment at Lowgate as Malmo Road 1st opened.

Did a fair old stint in the Private Box Office because Pete Salisbury took a shine to me.

I worked at Lowgate but moved to Malmo when it opened, you were honoured Pete took a shine to you as he does not take a shine to many

Before that Sunnybank was my delivery round,biggest on HU3 and maybe in Hull at the time.

Left 18 years ago this week actually.

Made some good mates and played for the football team.

Just got back from post office road wat a fab game great atmosphere I was a bit confused at half time avin to switch from one side of the ground to the other, Charlie came across at the end.

I just fail to see how any letter i send has to go to sheffield and then all the way back.

Oh I know that RM is just the end deliverer in lots of cases I just dont understand why they dont charge a little more seeing as THEY are doing the job of their competitors.

I would say 'if you dont want to pay the extra set up your own delivery service and see where that gets you!'

I was persuaded to go to Bruge a few years ago by my Mum.



The weekend started off well as Ms. Terrorist and I laughed heartily at my sister and brother in law who hadn't realised that for about twenty sheets you could upgrade to a cabin with a bathroom and therefore had to sleep in a coffin in the bowels of the vessel.



The first evening was even quite pleasant as I feasted on roll mops and sundry other Northern European delicacies. Many carafes of wine were consumed and the conversation was vibrant.



Bruge itself is a beautiful city (although I can see why they achieve such high standards in lace handkerchiefs, the place stinks so much you have to amble around with one permanently over your nose) very nice Moules Marinières and frites. Something about a pelican and the blood of that Jewish saviour bloke. Very cold in November.



The journey back was completely awful. Force eight gales. This does not sit well with a large imbibing of refreshments and consumption of a variety of seafood. I turned a deathly grey/green pallor and had to retire to my lodgings with great haste. The rest of the trip was spent banging my head against a Formica wall as the vessel was tossed this way and that as if it were a cork in a whirlpool.



It was not a pleasing experience.

Woudnt advise getting one, they just look cool thats all; theyre more for inner-city folk apparently - very big over in the old US of A and London as picked up on it.

All in all they would be absolutely rubbish if your looking at getting serious; and you would struggle like...#... getting up a hill!

Lest we forget the great man

There's a new-ish shop on Prinny ave that specialises in retro-cycles....some strange looking contraptions in there.

Bed ridden. I don't do "sick" very well, 1st time in 9 years and I'm bored.

Banks are a disgrace, last time I spoke to them I was pleading with them not to charge me £30 for going overdrawn, I had money in different accounts but I was abroad, I had banked with them for 30 odd years, No they said you have to pay the £30!



Unbelievable today they rang me all nicey nice (redundancy went in), I listen to their spiel, I pointed out that they charged me £30 and to my knowledge they had never rang me before! I told them not to worry about my money as it was getting transferred to different savings accounts in the next few days with banks who offer better interest rates, that shut them up





Then ING said I had to send them a cheque having not used a cheque book for several years I am unable to find my old cheque book

, rang bank they said 5 days to order one or I can go to the bank and they will give me one for £20!

...then they wonder why I will not save with them

Bad news, I was seriously ill two years ago and had seven months off, the longest time I haven't done any wotk of some sort since I was about eight.



I was so bored that my brain died and I had to buy another one.
