Not so much Green, but this shows a complete lack of ambition from Dobson. Still, good news for you guys.

Yeah re-signing with a Grade B Super League club, the guy's done nothing with his career.

Been a star performer in Super League (i.e. hasn't he been in the Dream Team at least one season?), played in play-off games, had countless MOM performances, racked up a lot of points. Okay no medals yet, but they'll come.

Couldn't you say this about any player who signs either Hull club especially O/Seas players, or am I to believe all players Hull sign come 'to play infront of the faithful' or 'after talking to Rich'.



The guy you've got on your avatar showed a lack of ambition signing for you lot, reckon if his agent had worked on it he could have got a club that had a chance of winning something.

Something to build the team around over the next license. If our promising young forwards mature as we hope, things could come good.

Who do we keep / let go though? For me I think time might be up for Vella, Lovegrove, Fisher, Hodgson (still not sure if he's got what it takes), and have been far from happy with Newton lately, but admittedly on a good day (as rare as they are now with him) he can be a handful.

Lovegrove being classified as club-trained allows us to have more depth. A switch to second-row might do him good - but then Galea and Newton do so many minutes ([ipassim[/i - Matt Cook). Hodgson, I think we have to be patient with - well, we do now, as he's here for 2/3 years. He's still only 21 remember.



Watts, Taylor and Cox could be the foundation of a strong pack for a decade. Equally they could all be playing in the Championships or have gone to the NRL by 2015 - you never can tell.

Yeah fair points mate. If Morgan does leave it'll be interesting to see if another coach sees the talent in Matty Matty Cook.

Not likely to be here though as his contracts up and if Hudgell can't get rid of Morgan then there's no point us giving him a new deal because he won't play.



Lovegrove is worth sticking with, he's had a poor season but he's young enough to get back to last seasons form. I agree he'd be better in the second row, running wide, remember his almost length of the field kick return at Salford?



Maybe the answer is to use him off the bench as an impact second rower and use Galea less, hopefully both would be more effective. Galea gets through an awful lot of defence which must negatively impact on his attacking play.

Sorry, went totally off on a tangent there. Great news, surprised that Dobson's signed for so long, Riolo obviously can't get him an NRL deal.

Cook will be long gone before we change the coach (unfortunately!).

Not down to Riolo, its Dobson, he has no ambition apparently.

Hardly comparable records in the NRL have they? Seymour has proved himself in the NRL and openly said that he's using his 3 years here as a base to travel Europe in the off-seasons. Which is fair enough.

Good news for Rovers to have a settled halfback pairing for the next few seasons. Slightly surprised that Dobson has changed his mind about how long he wants to stay in SL so soon after agreeing just a one year extension, but I guess circumstances can change fairly rapidly.

Ah, so his appetites are sated and he's coming for a holiday. Cool.



More seriously - I'm also surprised Dobson has chosen to extend his stay. Very pleased as well, though.

That was an option on his existing contract, rather than a renewal. Gotta milk it!
