As a fan it would be great to have someone in our team with the same attitude that Gale showed last night. His side were 50 odd points up, couple of minutes left in the match, Leeds score a try. Gale gets the Cas players together behind the sticks and gives them a public bollocking.

Now some of you experienced coaches on here will say that its just show and does not effect the attitude of the team. As a fan I would love to see this type of approach adopted by a Trinity player or two. Now I know that Kirkmond is the Captain and we therefore have no chance of seeing him openly rallying his troops onto better things but could someone else just step up to the plate, Gale is not the Captain at Cas. When we concede all I see is our players slump down in the dumps and wait for the water carrier to come on and have a quiet chat with them.

You see the same desire and attitude with all the top teams, and until Wakey have someone who will do that and get a grip of the lads then we're not going to see their full potential as a team. I think the individual players Wakey have got make for an excellent squad, but they need some serious work on getting that on field attitude right before they become an excellent team. They need a charismatic leader who will drag their heads back up when they drop, and someone who will keep pushing them even when they're on top

This to me is our main problem now.....a leader / leaders on the pitch. Some-one who will rattle a few cages when needed and like-wise a cool, strong ,calm influence when needed too. Twice we have been in great position to win matches but did.t have the "nous" to do so.

Williams gives Bishop and Lyne a good rollocking when the former drops the ball for their winner.

It needs to be constant, hopefully between Williams and Grix they will manage to gee the team up and rollock them when they make mistakes, and Kirmo can be the sane person on the field to deal with the officials

Great to see Grix laying down the law at half time in the team huddle . Exactly what I love to see . Passion , desire , team spirit goes a long way . Excellent attitude tonight .

I agree, tonight showed the perfect mix of passion and belief, as well as control. They managed that game excellently and I'm sure will hold their heads high heading into next week

Grix is that guy for us.

Whether he has the title or not he's our best captain.

I have to admit I was scratching my chin when we signed Grix but he's been MOM in all 3 games so far. Superb display again.

Huby seemed to be quite animated in the pre match huddle.

Huby was my man of the match, boy did he make some hard yards tonight , Walker was tough as well especially as he was a very late call up, and what about Batchelors for rate in defence - awesome ; Kirmond has his best game in three years

Definitely an excellent team spirit building up, can't fault the performance tonight.

I don't understand why Mash , he was good for us before he went to shudds and he's been top draw so far

Just about sobered up after last night's game game management by the 2halves spot on 110% effort by all involved but still getting put down due that Ming mong E Hemmings before during and after a brilliant team performance in crap conditions

Huby has been a great signing, hasn't had a bad game yet.



Fafita also looks more stable, actually though he was being persecuted by Childs last night.



Also like Walker (a lot) - looks like England and Allgood will struggle and poor old Hirst might not get a look in which is a good thing (no disrespect to those players)

Yes Walker is stepping up to the mark which is good to see. Also Huby and Fifita played well too.



Dont Agree about England and Allgood though. For me Engy was head and shoulders above our other props and albeit short, when he has played Allgood looks class.



For me Milky shaded it for man of the match even though we were playing in a mudbath.

It makes no difference to me how good England was last year or how good Allgood was at HKR - all that matters is that both players will have to fight to get their places back. No way either of those players should get an automatic place.

A fully fit England will make the starting 13 IMO, Allgood looked a bit off the pace in pre season but, with 30 games to get through, everyone will get a shot and with competition for most positions now, it bodes well for the season.



Reece Lyne is improving all the time and Grix has been very, very impressive.

He looks a class act, far better than I remember in his first stint.

You know I'm all about the stats but this week they make good reading, especially when talking about attitude



As a team STs beat us in every stat, except goals and penalties.

More carries, more metres, more tackles more tries, way more off loads, but we stuck in there.



Individually our forwards worked really hard



Arona made 42 tackles missing 1and carried the ball 14 times. making him top in both those stats for Wakefield forwards (average gain was 6.21 metres which is pretty good going up the middle

Ashurst was next in tackles with 36 but had little running opportunity with 9 carries

Huby made 30 tackles and missed 0......that is an excellent stat for a front rower. He hits hard too. He was next after Arona in carries with 12 but made more yards averaging 6.5

Sio was a welcome return with 30 tackles and no misses. Carried the ball 9 times but average gain was 5.11

Walker 24 tackles with 1 miss. Not as much time with the ball so only 8 carries

Batchelor was a surprise for me as I knew he was a great runner but he made 23 tackles and missed none! Only 4 carries though. We needed to get him the ball out wide.

Fifita made 21 tackles and again missed none. only 5 carries which surprises me, but he made an average of 10 metres each time.

Kirmond had less time on the field but made 16 tackles with no misses. 10 carries but only 4 metres each one.





Finn and Wood did pretty well too with 24 tackles and 29 tackles respectively, both missing too.



The number of players with zero misses is excellent. And among the big men too.



We have a good pack there. The SR will get more running chances in the dry.

Huby has been excellent so far and will probably be even better in the dry once we can utilise his passing game.

Dont agree with the fact of England and Allgoid struggling.



England as I said was head and shoulders above our other front rowers last year.



I will be honest here with Allgood. I saw a few Hull KR games last year and he didnt stand out. I thought their best forward waa Greenwood. He but in some real big hits on Boxing Day and in the early exchanges in the friendly against Cas.



My four first choice props would be England, Huby, Allgood and Fifita.



What I will say about Walker and Hirst is that I feel they have both made the step up which will bode well later in the season if the first choice props need a rest.



I havent mentioned Arona, as I think he provides cover both in the front and back row, probably a better fit at 13.



All in all, these selection headaches are good for the team.
