Good pack but plenty for us to target there. I know Warrington fans like them, but our wingers should give Jake Thewlis and Aaron Lindop nightmares. However, obviously this is Dufty weather - and if we let him run after offloads we'll be in trouble.
I do think a lot will depend on whether Wire can lift themselves again emotionally after last weekend. And all that makes it a complete 50/50 - much like every time we play Warrington, Hull, Leigh, Leeds or Catalans at the moment. That's what's so good about SL this year.
I think it’s pretty obvious we need to be all over Dufty and Sneyd in the backs. Kick pressure and limiting broken play and offloads will help.
In the forwards Vaughan needs to be handled along with maybe Harrison when he comes on. Again limiting offloads.
As mentioned I would be targeting the edges and also I think this could be a game someone like Harvey Smith could excel in to cause trouble from the ruck.
Our kicking needs to be smart but with TJ and Walmsley we have plenty of strike and need to get them involved.
With both teams having a similar amount of injuries it could be a close game. Trueman playing would be a huge boost. The time to rest him if needed would be Salford the week after if we need to manage him.
Trueman rest him he as only played 5 games this season ,Think if he can not put a run of 5 or 6 games together .there should be Question ask He is a marque player .Think is absence as cost us a cup S F .The reason I am getting fed up of the situation is ,at present I am watching a team that are giving 100% but keep getting flash backs to the days when Gaskell was always missing .The difference is Truman looks good when he is on the park .but if you got to manage him we will not become a top 4 team
Agree with this. If we are managing Trueman through a 4 year marquee contract, then we have the wrong player. Either he can play, or he can't. If he can't, then the recruitment manager will sort that out we must trust.
Why are you all on about the next 4 years or long term off the back of my comment about resting him if his current injury is causing him issues. My comment was purely short term in that if pain management would assist or be required to get him through Warrington then he would be invaluable to have for that game. If he feels sore after we have Salford and a break to use.
This is different to having to prrmenantly manage a chronic problem. If there is the possibility of that then I’m sure the club will look at the appropriate action.
