| Utd linked heavily with Benzema again, anywhere between £25/35m seems to be the price although I read a couple of reports saying he did not want to move during a WC year. The Valencia rumour is still strong and there was also rumours about Douglas Costa and Rodwell.
Brown has comfirmed this morning that Hull do want to sign Owen but have not made him an offer as yet.

The story on sky sports the other day with Lacombe seemed to me to be pretty much an invite to Man Utd to put in a big bid and they'd get him. I could see Douglas maybe as well.
That's a risk by City if they offer him big money. Supposedly they're wanting to offer a conditional 1 year deal, so it'll be interesting to see what happens. I would have said previously that they'd have no chance, someone bigger's bound to be in for him, but the lack of interest in Owen is huge and must be doing his ego serious damage.

Have you seen that sales brochure he has issued? Bizarre.
Didn't realise he's only 29.

| Hi Paul, and fao everyone from Hull who post here.
I've obviously been to Hull many-a-time for rugby league, with Widnes and for Great Britain games.
But on recent trips to the city where I visit my girlfriend, I've noticed a huge amount of people in Liverpool shirts around. More than Hull, Leeds and Man U. Is Hull a Liverpool FC-supporting hotbed?

Unfortunately, despite the huge upturn in City's fortunes of recent, there is still a number of 'shirt-swappers' in Hull. Most of them supported Leeds (ugh) for a while, and over the years have more than likely sported Newcastle, Arsenal, Spurs and Manyoo shirts.
There is also a fair number who attached themselves to Liverpool in the 70's/80's and have never let go. Each to their own, and all that.

WTF? Surely if any now chose to support City after their "huge upturn in fortune" *s* that would make them a "shirt-swapper"?

| England U21 vs Germany U21 tonight (Monday) in Sweden.
England have qualified for the semis, having already beaten Spain, but Germany still need a point.

Seen the reports of it, but no idea what they've put in it. I agree it's bizarre, and I think the fact that they feel the need to do something like that speaks volumes. Who would have thought 5 years ago that Hull City would potentially be the best offer Michael Owen would receive at this stage of his career?

I've just read in the paper that he'll be on €40k a week plus €30k for every game he plays and another €10k for every goal.
