| My main concern is whether we've got someone lined up. If we haven't, it's another dumb move by Chelsea.
Abramovich has got rid of four managers since he bought the club. Getting rid of Mourinho is up there with the most stupid decisions in the history of football. Abramovich deserves to suffer for that.
Getting rid of Ranieri was done in a stupid manner because it hampered our efforts in the CL that season, but replacing him with Mourinho was totally the right thing to do.
Appointing Avram Grant was a ridiculous decision. He didn't have any credentials, any charisma, any record and he was seen as being the person brought in to remove Mourinho. His record while manager though was very good, but it was said to be down to the players themselves rather than him. I wasn't sad to see him gone and I don't regret him being sacked either. The main thing about Grant is why is hell did Chelsea give him a long contract and then sack him anyway.
I was pretty pleased with the appointment of Scolari, but nothing more. We did set out playing some more attractive football, and it obviously worked very early on for a while, but as soon as teams figured out how to play against us Scolari had no answer to that. One of the major things I didn't like with Scolari was his acceptance of duff decisions against us. This season we've been mugged by refs and he's just politely requested that refs apologise. If you are fighting for titles then you want to do everything in your power to get those titles. If that means giving refs stick when they **** up, then you give them stick. Accepting decisions meekly is a sign that you just don't want it enough. And if Scolari doesn't want to fight for honours while he was at Chelsea, but instead was just adding to his retirement fund then he can just **** right off.
I remained non-committal about Scolari so I'm not sure right now how I feel about him being sacked. He clearly hasn't been given enough time, but he didn't really have time on his side when he only signed a 2 year contract.
If we haven't got anyone lined up then it's just another **** up by Chelsea. My wildest dream is that we've got that Inter manager lined up, but that's not going to happen. Apart from him I don't really see who we will get. I don't really want Sven, Zola/Clarke is far too early, Capello would cause too much fuss, I suppose Hiddink would be the favourite but why didn't we go after him when we were appointing Scolari?

| Quote JWP="JWP"No he isn't.
Any credentials that he has, he has at International Level.
I think he won a Brazilian title in the late 90's.'"
He won the South American equivalent of the CL. Twice.

| What is Big Boss doing?
I finally give the Gene Hackman some Quaresma and he gets the bullet.
No way Chelsea can be champions now.

Acording to Scolari's agent this was Abramovich's decision and Kenyon was still behind Scolari.

Your pushing it calling it an equivalent.
He has no experience of managing a club side in Europe, none. If applying for a big job, like a Chelsea therefore he has no credentials and cannot be classed as World Class manager, he's only prived it in one country, his country. (A league in which as soon as any player shows any ability they up sticks and move to Europe.)
It'll never happen, I'd be happy with someone like Moyes. I wouldn't be surprised to see Klinsmann in the frame, he has no club CV either, but he's attributed to playing open, attacking football which Roman stupidly set as the mandate at the start of his search for a successor to Grant, which delivered Scolari.
Roman & The Fans are to blame for this, they moaned and moaned about the style of football, not pleasing on the eye and all that crap, it's about results, pure & simple, if they went back to the Mourinho days now, and it got them back into the title race nobody would give a damn.

The vast majority of Chelsea fans had no problem with Mourinho's football. The criticisms of Mourinho's football were from oppo fans.

| Quote Lord Percy="Lord Percy"Whilst I agree with that, how does it explain Drogba's ban ealier in the season? The referee booked him for throwing the coin back into the crowd, yet the FA still banned him for 3 games. Yet another example of the FA's double standards.'"
The ref said he booked Drogba for going towards the Burnley fans, not for throwing the coin.

There was certainly unrest amongst Chelsea fans at this legacy of defensive football, Grant took over and pretty much cloned the Mourinho style, the moans were more in the Grant era, I rememer his introductory press conference and so much of it was based around how he was going to cope with being told by Roman to play better football, he said Chelsea were going too, we all waited - It didn't arrive, In the end folk mocked it. Plenty of empty seats followed and last year much was made about the lack of atmosphere which was again due to the style of football allegedly, and as soon as Roman stopped watching according to the media it was because he was bored with the style of football and he wanted to see 'Barcelona-esque' football at Stamford Bridge, blah blah.
If Roman still wants style, I think he'll chase a Rijkaard or a Klinsmann. Somebody who is famed for attacking football. If it's about winning, then a Deschamps may get a gig. If Roman isn't going to put money in anymore, and it's sell to buy almost (with a bit of an injection of cash) that may put off the genuine 'World Class' managers, you may end up with a lesser name.
If he wants great football, go and get Martin Jol. We already have Arnesen, get that partnership back together. He seems to be implying lately that we wants to feed kids through the system, so maybe he'll look for a coach that has a CV of integrating kids ?

| Frank Rijkaard. Top appointment. Couldn't take the pressure at Barca. Had top form Ronaldinho, Messi and Deco. He's going to work so well in the Premier League.
Sadly, judging by the decisions Chelsea have been made under Abramovich, he might be a candidate, but he shouldn't be.
