if they put quality players on the field people might come to watch.People will not pay to watch average team FACT.

And to get quality players you have to play them quality money which we aint got becuse we can't attract a decent crowd because we aint got decent players, round and around and around we go chicken or egg you can't escape economics and if anyone is daft enough to think anyone can well its time to re-open Winwick, now thats a FACT (I can read one doesn't have to shout).

Well ive read my posts again and you know surprise surprise I didnt say that, unfortunately unlike some of the financial geniuses on here I do not have the answer, but to say get better players without any money in this money driven world is financial suicide and if being given the choice to having to watch an average team or not watching a team at all because they have gone 'bust' I know which I would pick, you or anyone else can make their own choice. Even if does hang around, which I hope he does, as every game is running at a loss his funds are going to be reducing by the day.



Therefore future signings are likely to be even less well funded than they are at present, so it may be a downward spiral rather than a vicious circle I'm afraid ... unless of course you can get your crowds up??

There is no easy answer to the team/fans , chicken/egg scenario

There were 2500 watching then though week in week out

To pay 3 more top NL players you would need about £120k a year. Thats about 1200 extra on the gate.



Would we get 3000?



Nope.

So what happened Alf ?



From 99 through to 2004 we were the top club/team outside SL



We played some good open attacking RL



But by 2004 our ave was down to 1800



All that was with the carrot of SL for winning a GF



We no longer have that carrot , it is my opinion that we will never play in SL again



So what do you suggest ?

Well I think NK is the best coach in the division to get the best out of the players we have.



Our crowds started to drop when folk realised we were never going to be able to compete with the best, and when Turk left and, the none entertaining rugby, with the odd game not counted, began to become the norm.

oozed class, and they've got exton to come in as well!!

fully agree..its a risky stategy but its the only way this great club will get back on its feet again.
