Why play Monas at halfback ? Surely it would have been an ideal opportunity to give

our young promising Gareth O'Brian some game time and at the same time giving Monas a day off.

He would also have been good cover for goal-kicking.

He's not injured playing for saints tonight

It wouldn't be fair to the lad, he's settled at the moment, i'd leave him at Saints for the rest of the season, let him get some proper game time.

Agree with this,is he not on a week by week basis with them now.

Having watched him for a few weeks now, I'd suggest he's been loaned out because Warrington don't want him, rather than for development. He's a really average player, poor hands for a half back.



I'd be surprised if he ever got a starting spot at Warrington.

I have seen quite a lot of GOB, particularly during his U20 games, and I would have said his handling skills were one of his best qualities. I have only seen part of one game that he has played for Saints so you are in a better position to judge. However I wonder if it is more an issue of confidence and nerves rather than his innate ability ?

Always looked good at Warrington, good handling skills etc. If what you say is correct though it seems like he's fitting in well at Saints.

Maybe the averageness is being coached into him?

Saints should have focused more on their youth system like Warrington have done rather than signing guys like Lance Hohaia.



GOB is not even good enough for us and yet he goes straight in to the Saints first team, where are your other home grown players knocking on the door?



The successful clubs are those that invest in young talent and bringing through their own players and until Saints wake up to that fact they will remain struggling. You can't just hope to buy in success.

There's only so much the poor lad can do with the quality of players around him at Saints.

Wigan's thuggery got them nowhere tonight, and their lack of quality in the centres will have had all of the top sides licking their lips.

Shoulder charge is a penalty but to the head is deemed a sending off offence, see Sam Moa Hull v London.

In the end, it did contribute to Wigan having a man sent to the bin, which lead to Saints winning the game, so justice done. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a ban for that.

Yes, but the injury to GOB meant that Saints were lacking a kicker and could easily have lost. Sending off for me.

I think it was a sending off too. Just wanted to make the point, that in the end it didn't cost Saints. It often does, when the ref cops out and just puts an incident on report, and fails to make a decision when he's clearly seen it.
