Id be over the moon if Wane came to us. Love his mentality and we need a rocket up the arris!! Cant see him leaving England though as he hasn't even managed a game yet though?

| Quote ninearches="ninearches"We seem to have this glass ceiling at the Wire where we can only perform to a certain level & that has been a problem all the years i have watched them. We get our nearest & dearest with similar financial positions as the Wire who can just pick a manager off a shelf who does the biz & they come up with players who want to perform & do their best for the club that is paying their wages. We seriously need to look at our overseas recruitment policy for a start when we have imports that either just go through the motions or can't even get on the bench. Hill & Cooper can't do it every week.'"
We currently have overseas players that can`t even get into the 17 man squad.

| Quote Wistfulwire="Wistfulwire"Price been far better than TS and has never took us into the middle 8s'"
While you’re correct re middle 8’s, that is not the only barometer of a good job.
Smiths downfall, in my opinion, was a desire to complete projects. This was either a self driven campaign or forced upon him by a board unwilling to invest. This was seen in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
2015 saw players like Wheeler, Russell, Antony England etc. brought in trying to create a ‘Chris Hill’. Who was essentially a bargain superstar. Sandow came in too late to do anything (and was horribly unfit).
In 2016 we got Gidley, plus Hughes, Dodds, Cox, Bailey and Westerman. Gidley aside they were all project players. Patch up jobs or last roll of the dice. Still, won the league leaders shield and got to within a score in both of the major finals.
At this point, Smith either doubled down that he could change and develop players into a champion team - or his hand was forced by lack of money. (Draper era, so may have spend up on fancy lights, new club shop and new badges). So we got Blythe, Crosby and Pomeroy. Only Cooper turned out to be a good signing.
Against 2018 where we got BMM (dream team, huge fee) Roberts (Marquee), Goodwin, Charnley. 2019 Austin, Clark, Mamo on good money and 2020 with Widdop. All of these players are bought in on big money. In addition to the squad fillers, Gelling, Latu, Tasi, Thompson, Davis, Walker etc.
The board have backed Price. They have let him have the same luxury as Smith, to bring in potential talent in younger/project player, plus the added benefit of huge names being brought in from NRL first teams. Starters. Plus, cap-free additions like Charnley and Burrell. He’s brought in his own team (Henderson, Gardner etc) and had a chance for them to settle in. Last year we finished 5th in what was a two horse race in August. And this year we failed to beat Salford and Hull in the big games. He won one trophy in the three years of huge investment, same as Smith on a show string.
I don’t think we’re any further on. We’re essentially in the Cullen era again. Stars, but not good enough to make it count.

| No doubt if they are going to make a change KP will be Zooming Aussie coaches we have never heard of to replace Price, we could try for McDermott or throw big money towards Mr Wane or try to gazump Hudds to Watson if indeed he was ever going there at all?

| Tony Smith is an infinitely superior coach to Price in [ievery aspect[/i.
TS coached us through a period when the comp was tougher and not only delivered better results but did it with style.
Price has been backed financially and has delivered dreadful rugby and failed to establish us as #1 in a competition which, at best, had 2 or 3 decent teams in it.

| We need a proven winner. Simple as that. Wane or McDermott fit that bill. Jury still out on Watson for me. Hes done well, overachieving at Salford. But is this job with us a bit too soon for him?

Was the Leeds job too soon for Tony Smith? Shall we just wait for watson star to fall and then appoint him when everyone views him as damaged goods having been released from another club? He's over achieved with what has been at his disposal for 2 seasons running, what more does he have to do? It's the polar opposite of what we are used to. From my viewpoint he looks to be exactly what we need.

| Who's idea was it to go with 2 props, leave Hill on for 70 minutes, not use the subs and use a 5 stone kid to clear our line ? Then at half time not even be d addressing the team ?
once we've resolved that riddle then we can move on.

Also what was the point of bringing Jake Mamo on with about six minutes left.
When this was asked in the post match interview the answer was 'to provide a different point of attack'.
Too little, too late.

| If Watson really is going to Huddersfield, how did we let that happen? There are only twelve coaches so it wouldn't seem to be that difficult to find out what's going on with the ones we might be interested in AND might come. Watson was the stand-out candidate. Would it really have been that difficult to have a word with him and set out a possible deal? I think a five minute phone call would be all that was needed.

| I know it might be a bit controversial but I have always been impressed by Henderson's enthusiasm and the work he did at London. We don't really know how much input he gave in the current setup or perhaps more tellingly, how much input he was allowed to give but I wouldn't mind giving him a go.

End of last season it would have probably been right to make a change. Now at the end of this season his position is untenable
Sadly I think we will talking about the same subject at the end of next season before we see a sacking or resignation
Get McDermot in now
