c Perhaps I am too ambitious but because of the terrible state of rugby union in Wales I believe IMG and the Rugby League should be speaking to the clubs and players in Wales to consider a way forward which could be of value to both parties. At present the players in Wales are threatening strike action surely perhaps becoming part of rugby league is a better option

Those days are long gone….

Union is engrained into the fabric of Welsh life in the towns and valleys and the major incentive that most crossed the code rift for ie the £££ is long gone.



The best we could hope for is that we see emerging talent such as Regan Grace before they break through and get a good offer in front of them early. Even then the pull to represent Wales in the Union will usually eventually win as its so culturally significant for them.

The players are considering striking because of uncertainty regarding their next contracts. Joining us would certainly give them certainty: they'd be out of a job. Particularly those too tall or too round to take up proper sport

This is a bit of an urban myth now. Like most places soccer is the dominant sport in Wales.
