Yep I like this signing, very glad we've got it over the line. I'm thinking 2 year contract means either a) there are still question marks over recovery from injury, or b) Bentley wants to see Leeds continue to make progress because he's worked hard to become part of a top SL side or c) he is holding his candle for NRL after 2 years still.



We have a great pack developing - very "Leeds-like" with home-grown young lads developing and learning together. In fact said it before but I think this pack has the potential to be the best we've ever had. Maybe not the talismanic Peacock in there but for me this set could become pretty fearsome.

If Prior stays, we have a serious pack for next season.

But we need investment in the backs - a 6, a winger and possibly a FB.

If we do that we could well be back up there challenging.

I think a 6 is a given. The question is who - we really need some quality there to complement Gale if we're serious. This is not a signing to go bargain basement on, although of course we have financial issues to deal with.



Other than that maybe a player who can cover FB and wing well. Pace and quality. I'm reasonably happy then - barring further injuries.



Get the right coaching in to add some impetus for 2022 and I honestly think we are back at the races again. This side still won't reach it's peak for another few years but even now I think they can rattle some cages.

agree with all of that Jim. from reading about the deal for Bentley i think we're not over committing given his injury. He talks about wanting to help win Leeds trophies for many years to come so that sounds long term to me !



Really liking the look of our pack, if we can keep Tetevano for the next number of years leading them we will be in a good place. Just need that 6 for next season now and retain or replace Prior. If Walker and Newman come back strong no need for another back imo, maybe just a winger

Good news. Back row / loose forward positions look tasty and young. So much potential. In the forwards if Prior stays I would not look anywhere else other than 6 and wing/FBack. Key is to get them all fit now. I suggest Martin will depart but that’s more positive than negative as it means we play our young pack every week enabling them to gel as a unit. Gale is a good kicker and potential cover in that area with new 6. All we need now is some live rugby lol.

How about him as the new James Lowe?

Bentley is a brilliant signing for you. I wasn't convinced by him initially but as he's grown he's developed into a wonderful player. He's everything John Bateman wishes he could be. His defense is the best in Super League pound for pound. The Grand Final last year was the perfect example of what you're getting with Bentley. He played 80 minutes with 2 broken ribs and did 69 tackles. Yet when Makinson's drop goal went up, Bentley was one of only two players to chase that ball, beaten to it only by Welsby who was as fresh as a daisy. Some RL neanderthals will tell you he has no attacking threat, but that's not true. He runs good lines and is developing that side of his game well. He made a few breaks against you in recent games at your ground I believe. So all in all I'm gutted he's leaving.

First game back after a bad injury and plenty of aggression and just what we need.

Cannot understand the criticism of him tonight as he put in so many tackles and didn`t take a backward step.

Can`t wait to see him in a Leeds shirt.

Gave 3 penalties and a 6 again away and got sinbinned in just over 30 mins on the pitch, very easy to see why he was a liability for them tonight. He's a good player and happy we'v signed him, but he hindered them tonight, his aggression wasnt controlled.

He was very aggressive, which is just what we need. Came up with a good ball steal aswell as putting himself about in defence and attack.He'll know himself he gave away far too many penalties, but he's had a long layoff. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Deary me people having a go at the lad already… had a long lay off probably trying too hard to make an impact and let it get better of him. Honestly what a bloody load of nonsense!!

He went really well. Obviously rusty. But had bags and bags of effort in defense. Never seemed to stop.

Worth bearing in mind that I think Bentley was sent on with instructions to wreak a bit of havoc and increase the intensity on Saints' side.

Sure he went over the edge more than a bit but it's better to be have that ability and learn to reign it in than to not have it in the first place.

With better coaching at Leeds he should be able to develop that controlled aspect of his game hopefully.
