Trebor1: Morning chaps. What a win that was. I sank a few beers after watching that... couldn't sleep after :) credit to Sheff U, they came out hard and rattled us a bit but goodness me what a response, especially given no Manager on the sidelines and losing our capt in the run up to the game... that made it even more special. They're a very good team these boys of ours... incredible belief, workrate, mentality and ability. Sheff U couldn't maintain they're start, weren't good enough to do so. Our subs were superb, there's not so, Bogle and James ran Hamer ragged when he came on. Oh and i'd offer Firpo a new deal if we haven't already, not saying he's brilliant at PL level (if we get there, not counting chickens yet etc) but he's more than useful in the squad. He looks a much better player under Farke. Thought he deserved the MOM. One fly in ointment is Ampadu injury, Farke says may need an Op. Need to pray no other CB's get injured... not going in for one in Jan now looks very risky given Wober's injury record. Hamer was very lucky to stay on the pitch, should have received a second yellow.

| Next couple of games tricky with early kick off times (12pm for both West Brom (H) and Portsmouth (A)..) but good thing is there's a week between the two. We need to certainly keep level headed though but play with confidence and dominate. Really go for the jugular now . International break just after QPR away Mid March, If we keep going on this path we would be in touching distance of being safe in the automatic spots by then, We'd be nearly on 90 points. Or just win all our home games and that would put us on 93 points worst case.. :) :)

| Can’t see anything immediately prior to this current page on this thread at the moment, I keep going back to Jul 2023. Must say, a very interesting discussion on Max Wober back then .

Trebor1: chapylad: Well I`ve been away for 3 weeks and so impressed with the results we have produced during that time. After being on the go for almost 30 hours and arriving home yesterday with a chuffing flu virus I was determined to watch the game. Couldn`t believe the Meslier howler and was starting to think it`s me jinxing the team. But a top class team performance got us home comfortably in the end. Firpo my MoM. Losing Ampadu is going to be a blow as Gruev doesn`t appear up to it. Agree Hamer should have got a second yellow for the foul on Rodon. Tanaka no way a yellow. Good substitutions again by Farke. Shame that Joseph just doesn`t seem to be the player I thought he would be. Rodon very good at the back again.
Hope you had a good one mate, holiday ?? Always trust an airplane to spread a load of bugs around! 12 games left, if Ampadu needs an Op, i cant see him playing again this season.. Yes mate spending some of my NHS pension after 42 years in the rat race and treating the other half to a big 60 birthday on a cruise around SE Asia.So annoyed I didn`t take my LU scarf and post whites on tour in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines etc. Think we caught the bug either on the ship and if we didn`t nearly everyone around us on the plane was coughing their guts out! Some excellent results but the next 2 or 3 could be pivotal as expectations are higher. My worry apart from Meslier of course is an injury at CH and we are up the creek. I also think Albion will be quite physical on Saturday and hope the ref gets on top of it early doors. Meslier will also have his work cut out at set pieces Saturday.

| I agree. WBA and tge 3 awkward games in 6 days are crucial. I'd take 5 points if I'm honest
